Do you want to work strategically with procurement in an international industrial group with a strong focus on sustainability and long-term relationships with suppliers? Nordic Paper is now looking for a Category Manager responsible for contractors in maintenance and service for the group's procurement function.
About the roleAs a Category Manager, you will have overall responsibility for selected categories within maintenance and service. You will work strategically and long-term to develop category strategies, drive procurements, and ensure competitive and sustainable supplier solutions in line with the group's goals. The role involves close collaboration with our factories, suppliers, and group functions.
You will report to the group's procurement manager. Travel to Nordic Paper's other Scandinavian facilities and external contacts will occur in the role.
Your main responsibilitiesIn the role of Category Manager, you will among other things:
Lead and be responsible for the category Contractors with a focus on maintenance and service
Develop and implement strategies and procurement plans based on the needs of the business
Lead category teams with representatives from our mills to develop strategies, action plans, and supplier collaborations
Present strategies, resource needs, and key decisions in the group's steering committees
Drive procurements of main suppliers and project procurements
Negotiate and establish agreements in accordance with the group's goals for contract coverage
Establish and drive structured collaborations with main suppliers focusing on follow-up, performance, and joint development
Monitor and analyze market developments within the relevant categories
Ensure accurate and updated information in the procurement system
Continuously report activities, projects, and cost impacts and compile monthly reports to the Group Procurement Manager
Contribute to steering committees, projects, forecasting, and budgeting work as needed
Actively work for continuous improvements, both internally and together with suppliers
Lead other categories within the procurement organization as needed
Relevant higher education or university degree
At least five years of experience in strategic procurement, commercial responsibility, and contract management within the process industry or manufacturing industry
Experience in category management as well as analysis models and tools
Strong commercial understanding
Experience in change management (meritorious)
You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in English, as well as good knowledge of the Office suite and experience working in ERP systems.

About the employmentThe position is full-time, permanent. Location is Karlstad or Bäckhammar. Travel to our other facilities will occur. Start date according to agreement.
